Pottery Parties are great for birthdays, scout troops and private parties. Parties are scheduled for 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. $15 will be charged for each additional half hour. Please choose an item at least 2 to 4 weeks before your party and schedule a reserved date for the party. One type of item per party allows for efficient instruction. A Pottery Party includes instruction by a trained host, use of the studio facility, supplies, glazes, firing and cleanup.
Parties are scheduled by appointment. We can accommodate up to 8 participants maximum -- age five through adult. Our facility is suitable for 8 participants (including the guest of honor) with room for the host and another person to move around comfortably and help each person. Participants glaze the selected item first, clean up and then move to another room as needed.
You provide the food. Please limit the food to pizza, cake and snack foods. Provide plates, cups, napkins and utensils for your guests. A separate room for eating food is available in the coffeehouse on the top floor, Conewago Coffee. Party food can be set up when you arrive, during the demonstration and glazing time. An adult is designated to set up your food during the demonstration (they are not a participant). You are welcome to purchase drinks from our coffeehouse.
An adult must be in attendance during children's parties. The Pottery Party host is skilled in working with children/adults for decorating ceramics. ONE other adult is allowed to help during the decorating of pottery party. Parents/visitors of participants will need to wait in the coffeehouse.
The glazed items are placed on a shelf to be fired. We will call you when the are finished and ready to pick up -- generally within a week.
